A versatile violinist and singer, Rurik has been lending his talents to a wide range of artists for over a decade. Growing up in Atlanta with a classical background, he went on to absorb many fiddle styles from bluegrass to hot jazz, while often being inspired by players and styles that don’t normally include the violin. Now a resident of New Orleans, he continues to push the boundaries of the instrument while performing with many of the city’s finest musicians. He’s spent long hours in a van with the likes of Cracker, The Whiskey Gentry, Andrew Duhon, and many more. He already knows the difference between a fiddle and a violin, and he doesn’t remember how to play “Devil Went Down to Georgia”.
