Become a Patron Saint of Acushla
Patron Saints of Acushla continue the tradition created by Lorenzo de’ Medici (1449-1492) a Florence statesman, ruler and patron of arts and letters. His sponsorship of artists such as Botticelli and Michelangelo made him an important figure of the Renaissance.
Each level receives a beautiful, handcrafted silver St. Brigid’s Cross made by our Acushla artist Tim & Mabel. We thought this was only fitting as St Brigid was known for her charity, as a young girl giving away her family’s riches to the poor and she created a school of art at her monastery in Kildare teaching metal works and illumination. St. Brigid is conflated with the Pagan goddess Brigid and Voodoo Loa Maman Brigitte much like all Art in New Orleans and along the Gulf Coast the legends, miracles and magic are a gumbo of good things!
The generosity of Patron Saints of Acushla will support artists, workshops and events.
